Wild Bergamot
Wild Bergamot, Monarda fistulosa, is a gorgeous perennial mint. Its aromatic foliage and lovely nectar rich purple blooms make a fabulous addition to any garden.
These dazzling blooms are a favorite of hummingbirds, butterflies, and native long-tongued bees. They bloom June through August in full sun to part shade and reach approximately 4 feet.
As a member of the mint family, these plants spread via underground rhizomes and will form a nice patch. If a patch gets too large, parts can easily be dug up in early spring and transplanted to new locations.
